Whooping cough (pertussis)

Whooping cough (pertussis) is an infection of the lungs and breathing tubes. Our private vaccination service is aimed at anyone over 3 years of age who requires an initial vaccination or booster dose for general protection or before travelling.

What to
consider:

  • Our service is available for individuals aged 3 years and over who either:

    • require a booster dose following primary immunisation

    • require protection as a primary immunisation during pregnancy (from 14 weeks onwards)

    • those with incomplete immunisation status who require protection

    • anyone travelling where the country requires proof of vaccination

  • When you arrive, a trained clinician will carry out a short consultation to confirm the vaccine is suitable for you. They will ask about your medical history, allergies, and any current medications.

Once everything is confirmed, the vaccine will be given as a quick injection, usually into the upper arm.

  • Depending on previous vaccines you may have had, this vaccine may be 1 or 2 doses. Each dose costs £59.

  • The vaccine available as part of our service protects against diphtheria, tetanus, polio and pertussis.
