MMR Vaccine

The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps, and rubella, three serious viral infections that can cause complications. Our pharmacy provides safe and confidential consultations, ensuring the vaccine is administered effectively to help keep you and your community healthy. Prices start from £42 per vaccine.

What to consider

  • The MMR vaccine is routinely recommended for all babies and young children as part of the standard vaccination schedule.

    Also recommended for:

    • Those about to start college or university

    • Individuals planning to travel abroad

    • Those planning a pregnancy

    • People working in frontline health or social care

    • Anyone born between 1970 and 1979 who may have only received a measles vaccination

    • Anyone born between 1980 and 1990 who may not be fully protected against mumps

    • You have had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to a previous dose of the HPV vaccine or any of its ingredients.

    • You are currently unwell with a high fever in this case, the vaccination may be postponed until you have recovered

  • You’ll begin with a short consultation to review your medical history, allergies, and any previous vaccinations.

The vaccine is administered as two injections into the thigh for babies or the upper arm for older children and adults. The second dose is given a few weeks or months after the first to ensure full protection.

After the injection, you may experience mild side effects such as a low-grade fever, soreness at the injection site, or a temporary rash. Our clinicians will provide guidance on what to expect and when to seek further advice if needed.
