What to consider

Most people between 2 months and 50 years old who are not eligible for the free NHS schedule, or who prefer to access it privately, can safely receive the MenB vaccine.

Meningitis symptoms often come on very quickly and may include:
a sudden high fever
nausea or vomiting
intense headache
a rash that doesn’t fade when pressed with a glass (though not everyone gets a rash)
stiffness in the neck
sensitivity to bright light
unusual drowsiness or difficulty waking
seizures or fits

During your consultation, our pharmacist will carry out a risk assessment to make sure it’s safe for you to have the vaccine.
If there are no concerns or reasons to delay, we’ll go ahead with the vaccination.
Afterward, we’ll share important safety advice and ask you to stay in the pharmacy for around 15 minutes so we can monitor for fainting or any rare side effects.
