RSV Vaccine
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common cause of coughs and colds. RSV infections usually get better by themselves, but can sometimes be serious for older adults. Our vaccination service is aimed at those over 60 years old.
What to consider

Our service is available for anyone from the age of 60 years and above. You will only need 1 dose of this vaccine to be protected.

You have had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to a previous dose of an RSV vaccine or any of its ingredients.
You are currently unwell with a high fever in this case, the vaccination may be postponed until you have recovered.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

At your appointment, our pharmacist will begin with a short consultation to review your medical history and ensure the RSV vaccine is safe and appropriate for you.
If everything is clear, the vaccine will be administered quickly and with minimal discomfort. Afterward, you’ll be asked to stay in the pharmacy for around 15 minutes so we can make sure you feel well before leaving.
We’ll also provide aftercare advice and answer any questions you may have about the vaccination.
